The Army Contracting Command New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the US Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Benet Laboratories located at Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet, New York is seeking capabilities statements from firms that can provide specialized machining services (Honing), engineering and test support for ARDEC’s Explosive Bonding program. Vendor will perform machining services on full-length D6AC 25mm steel barrels. This includes machining the 25mm barrel after cladding to net-shape configuration. The vendor will also machine the rifling pattern into the cladded material. The rifling pattern will be that of a 25mm Bushmaster barrel. The material to be rifled will be tantalum and tantalum tungsten alloys. The statement of Work (SOW) and Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) are attached.

This notice is open to all business concerns; however, the government intends to evaluate and award BPAs to small business concerns. In the event that there are not enough responses from small businesses the government will consider awarding to large business concerns. The Government may enter into one or multiple Blanket Purchase Agreements as a result of this notice per FAR 8.405-3. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interest by providing a description of their capabilities along with specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, information pertaining to experience on previous contracts for similar supplies/services and other technical data. The Government will accept written questions by email only. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to this requirement no later than the closing time/date of this announcement, 25 June 2012, 4PM EST.
